Major Responsibilities: Responsible for the operational aspects of the business plan including new IW product and service introductions as well as non-ZF wind gearbox repairs in the IAM. Actively supports the Global service strategy, developing and executing operational process improvements for NA Wind Service. Manages efficiencies and costs of the operations to include implementation of ZF PS, Lean, and other efficiency measures. The position is responsible for workshop expansion and operations, continuously improving throughput to improve delivery performance, quality, technical/repair decisions and resource planning. The position involves close integration with all aspects of the workshop including production scheduling, planning, purchasing, forecasting and establishing key performance indicators that drive the performance of the North America Wind Service business. Oversees material planning and purchasing activities ordering inventory for sale and/or shelf. Prepare budgets and conducts financial analysis as needed.
Key Attributes: Maintain an expert-level knowledge of company products and services acquired through experience and training; a high-level understanding of production processes, engineering techniques, inventory control and product management; ability to influence and engage at multiple levels within internal and external organizations; excellent verbal and written communication skills working in conjunction with the Head of NA Wind Service to develop all operational aspects of the Business Plan; Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 10%)
Leading product development projects (i.e., scheduling and technical performance) for Wind programs of high complexity with multiple variants.
Responsible for coordinating workshop expansion and strategic operational initiatives to optimize throughput to improve delivery performance, quality, technical/repair decisions and resource planning.
Oversee and optimizes the material planning and purchasing of inventory.
Ensure continuous reviews and improvements of organizational processes and take an active role in implementing change for attainment of the best-possible results.
Work to optimize efficiencies and reduce the costs of the operations with the implementation of ZF Lean, and other efficiency measures.
Work with the Head of NA Service to improve all operational aspects of the business plan, including service readiness for new IW product introductions.
Actively support the Global Service Strategy for IW.
Educational Requirements: BS Engineering and/or related experience preferred.
Experience Requirements: 2+ years related Wind Turbine service experience preferred. 5 +years of Service Operations experience required. Manufacturing experience, and/or industrial assembly process experience with power transmission products a plus. Intermediate to Expert in Microsoft suite. Effective and professional presentation, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills.
