Position Title: Vice President Mexico Operations
Location: Brownsville, Texas/Matamoros, Mexico
As Vice President of Mexico Operations, you will report to the Senior VP of Global Operations as well as work closely with other site leaders. We are seeking a seasoned leader with extensive experience in highmix, vertically integrated electronics assembly. The VP of Operations will be responsible for leading Production, Repair, Planning, Continuous Improvement and Facilities Maintenance at our 225,000 square foot factories in Matamoros, Mexico.
Responsibilities: • Oversees the activities associated with the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products • Continuously improves manufacturing operations using Lean/Six Sigma techniques and maintains acceptable on-time delivery (OTD) metrics • Engages with plant employees every day to address concerns or questions and gauge morale • Serves as a strategic advisor to the SVP of Global Operations and the President • Coordinates with Engineering to optimize Design for Manufacturability (DFM) • Determines root causes, eliminates waste to improve process control and product reliability • Interfaces with suppliers to resolve problems associated with fabrication and rework • Ensures effective capacity planning and budgetary processes • Inspires employees with action – be ready to roll up your sleeves and help wherever it’s needed • Exercises judgment to determine appropriate actions to ensure uninterrupted production flow • Empowers efficient teams through performance analytics, processes and tools • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Qualifications/Skills: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Master’s in Engineering or Business (MBA) preferred • A minimum of 10 years of experience leading electronics-assembly operations • Advanced Electro-Mechanical aptitude • Spanish language proficiency • Willingness to do hands-on work with plant workers at all levels • Significant experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management required • Previous success in engaging employees, motivating teams and developing talent • Competency in data analytics including advanced financial and statistical data to create KPIs • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - must work well in collaborative situations • Ability to be creative, transparent and adaptive in a constantly changing environment
