Journey Guide (Part-Time, Volunteer)

Purpose: Helping others to be successful as they seek to serve the Lord in missions.

Key Duties:
Contact candidates who post profiles on the MissionNext website to encourage them to use their passion, gifts and abilities for the Kingdom.
Help candidates to understand their strengths/weaknesses, gifts and abilities through various assessments.
Review with the candidates their score on the Qualified Candidate Scale and encourage them with steps to improve their score if needed.
Assist the candidates in navigating the MissionNext resources for optimum results in the matching process with the mission agency partners.
Document all communication in designated MissionNext systems.
Maintain complete integrity and biblical standards in all aspects of mentoring. Work with and report to the Journey Guides Director.
Time Commitment: This is a part-time, self-supporting position requiring 5-10 hours per week.

Staff Interaction:
Maintains a Christ-like interactive relationship with other MN staff members.

Other responsibilities as assigned.

College Education Preferred

Background in mentoring, encouraging, and assisting others in life stages and circumstances; a proven networker. Experience in staffing, either secular or ministry, a plus.

Christ-follower, personable, excellent communication and people skills, comfortable and confident in abilities, dependent on prayer, spiritually mature.
There is no office space for this position. A Journey Guide will work from home using his/her own computer and high-speed internet. Day-to-day contact is via email, telephone and video conferencing.
This is a self-supporting position. Approved ministry expenses may be reimbursed.
Agrees with MissionNext Statements of Faith and Spiritual Purpose.

Experience with, or willingness to learn basic use of various software platforms as appropriate. For example, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Office 365, virtual communications tools.
Due to virtual teamwork nature, must be a self-starter, willing to stay on task without regular face-to-face interaction.
Missions experience (ie short term, long term, church missions involvement)
Good communicator with solid knowledge and practice of email ethics (responding quickly, etc.).
Good team member skills.
Understanding of biblical principles regarding relationships, conflict resolution, etc.
Knowledge of missions and MissionNext resources, Forums and Journey Deepens events.
