Ingram Marine Group is seeking a Network Engineer to support our enterprise data, voice, and wireless network infrastructure. The environment is primarily Cisco and includes routers, switches, firewalls, VOIP Phones and UCS servers. In addition to supporting the corporate and field office locations, this challenging role is responsible for configuring and monitoring connectivity for over 150 marine motor vessels, each of which are connected “floating offices” with a combination of satellite, WiMax, and cellular technologies. The position is based in our Nashville, TN office, is on a team of 3 to 4 engineers and reports to the Manager, IT Operations.

What you will be doing:
Configuring networks and telephony solutions within industry recognized standards of performance, quality, and effectiveness.
Designing and deploying LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
Developing, implementing and maintaining policies, procedures, and training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
Creating and maintaining documentation for network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Overseeing new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades while interacting and negotiating with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors.
Monitoring, testing and reporting on network and telephony performances, troubleshooting, and resolving problem areas as needed.
Practicing network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Researching network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry.
Collaborating with leaders to assess near- and long-term, network capacity needs.
Participating in managing all network security solutions.
Assessing effectiveness of telecom networks (including long distance, cellular, dedicated circuits, and other types of communications medium as required), conducting cost reviews, examining alternatives, negotiating with users and carriers on voice and network alternatives.

Minimum Qualifications

What we are looking for:
4 years of accredited college work, preferably with a focus on Information Services, Computer Science, and/or Information Technology. Degree may be waived with significant related and demonstrable work experiences
Minimum of 6-8 years of increasing responsibilities in a networking/telecoms function
Minimum CCNP level of knowledge, with certification highly desirable
Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network operating systems, such as Cisco IOS/NX OS
Excellent knowledge of telephony systems, such as Cisco Unified Communications (Call Manager, Unity, Mobility, Meeting Place Express. IPCC)
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, UDP, IPV4/IPV6, VoIP, QOS, EIGRP, BGP Support, Cisco ASA
Working technical knowledge of current network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques
Able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Self-motivated and directed
