Overview:
A well-established Herndon Virginia based company is seeking an IT System Administrator cleared at the TS/SCI with poly level to join our IT team. We are looking for someone that has a great attitude, the desire to learn, solid technical skills coupled with outstanding customer focus. Ideally, the candidate will have 7+ years of progressive hands-on Enterprise Linux and Windows SysAdmin experience supporting highly technical engineers in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
In your position as IT System Administrator, you will work with the team to manage and maintain our corporate IT Linux and Windows environments, server farm, storage, back-ups, etc. In addition, you will collaborate with your teammates, peers and leadership to identify opportunities for continual improvement that positively impact the Company, IT, security and the user experience. In short, you are a self-starter that likes challenges, working with a good team and wants to join a forward leaning organization in our pursuit of building a world-class IT enterprise.
Responsibilities:
Required Experience
The candidate qualifying for this position will meet the following experiential requirements and will be able to demonstrate the depth of that experience during an interview:
SysAdmin of Linux, Windows and Cloud systems – physical and virtual platforms
Experience with physical and virtual networking (routing, switching, and/or firewalls)
Configuration and maintenance of secure communication (VPNs, PKI, etc.)
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Well versed across IT domains; SysAdmin, Cyber Security, Firewalls, data centers, Cloud, PBX, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, PKI and DNS
Experienced implementing/maintaining systems governed under ICD, RMF or NIST
Ability to work in a collaborative environment
Qualifications:
Preferred Skills
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and be able to demonstrate during an interview:
Installation and management of VMware products (ESXi, vCenter, Horizon/View)
Installation and support of Windows (Server, Workstation, Active Directory)
Use of scripting for task automation within Linux and Windows environments
Fluent in system maintenance activities to include patching, refresh, capacity planning, etc.
VoIP technologies and products such as SIP, Asterisk, etc.
Experience with use and configuration of system monitoring tools
Use of automated system provisioning and management tools such as Ansible
Configuring systems for use in secure environments
Experience with specifying and procuring IT equipment and software
Demonstrated success working in highly technical organization with a strong customer focus
Strong working knowledge of Back-up, Disaster Recovery, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and Telco
Well versed in controlled interfaces, Firewalls, VPN, PKI and Cyber Security
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly growing environment
Able to work independently and as a member of a team
Cleared TS/SCI with Poly
You do not need to be an expert in every aspect of Information Technology, but you must possess a good attitude and desire to learn.
Education
