Frameworks/Libraries: TensorFlow, Keras, OpenCV, Pandas, SciPy, NumPy
Server Side Languages: JAVA, Python, Robotics Operating System(ROS), Shell scripts.
Databases: Oracle, MySQL, IBM DB2, Google Cloud Datastore, MongoDB.
Operating Systems: MAC OS X, Windows, Red Hat Linux, and Ubuntu.
Hardware Knowledge: Nvidia GPUs, NMEA(National Marine Electronics Association) Products like Broadband Radars, Satellite Compass, Anemometers etc.


Design and implement a Neural Network for real-time image recognition and object classification in an offline self-navigating maritime system.
Design and implement a Machine Learning Algorithm for obtaining the depth of objects from stereoscopic images for aiding a self-navigating maritime system.
Implement Reinforcement Learning for modeling different navigation parameters like stern speed, thruster levels, steering direction and other components based on different conditions like wind speed, water currents, and cargo weight.
Implement Computer Vision techniques like object detection through thresholding of color channels and gradients along with scaling, cropping and perspective transform.
Implement transferred learning algorithms which can take pre-trained models from the autonomous car space and implement it for marine navigation.

About the Job

Write software for autonomous ships and boats.
Train neural networks with TensorFlow on Google Cloud using data gathered from our vision and radar sensors installed on Lake Freighters and speedboats.
Oversee data-labelling on Amazon Turk and other similar platforms.
Develop and test code live on speedboats.
Visit 700ft+ ships to see your code making them self-navigate.
Push and deploy code to production daily on GitHub.
Conceive and prototype new product ideas, and self-select to do projects that interest you.
Quickly self-learn any skills you need to accomplish goals. We will pay for any courses or conferences you find helpful.

Industry or academic project experience with neural network development.
Fluent in at least C++, Java and Python .
Experience architecting and implementing reliable, performant, high-scale machine learning operations on AWS or Google Cloud.
Strong knowledge of Robot Operating System, and Unix-based operating systems.
Eligible for NEXUS Trusted Traveler Program.
