LOCATION: Road to Recovery Clinics located in Glen Burnie, Annapolis and the Ordnance Road Detention Center.
NATURE OF WORK: This is a contractual consultant position, renewed annually. Under the supervision of the Medical Director and Program Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing psychiatric clinical services to RTR patients in accordance with clinic policies. In addition, the incumbent would assist in the overall clinical care of patients receiving medication-assisted treatment including methadone, buprenorphine and naltrexone.
DUTIES: The CRNP/Psychiatrist provides direct clinical care to clinic patients. Performs evaluations of patients admitted to RTR and on-going medication management as indicated. Follows documentation of patient’s therapeutic process, evaluates necessity for treatment continuation, modifies treatment plans and documents changes in accordance with clinic policy. The incumbent prescribes all psychotropic medications involved in treatment and monitors the on-going effectiveness, need and dosage for the prescribed medication.
The CRNP/Psychiatrist provides psychiatric input at weekly clinical staff meetings and assists in the formulation and implementation of individualized treatment plans.
The incumbent may also provide assistance with diagnosing and admitting patients into the MAT program, prescribing and adjusting medication dosage for opioid use disorder, performing physicals and consulting with other physicians as needed.
Candidates for this position must possess a current license from the Maryland Board of Nursing with Psych specialization or from the Maryland Board of Physicians.
- Must be data waivered to prescribe buprenorphine.
- Experienced in addiction medicine is preferred.
- Must provide documentation of current professional malpractice insurance with a minimum of $1 million per incident/ $3 million aggregate coverage.
