Food of Joy is a healthy meal delivery company based in San Diego, California. We provide people with healthy, nutritious, fresh, tasty, and affordable meals.

We are seeking a chef who has experiences in healthy cooking to join the team. If healthy eating is a passion of yours, this could be a great opportunity for you.

We need our chefs to have at least 3 years of experiences in food service management and food preparation. You may have worked in capacity such as restaurant/catering manager, executive chef, head chef, sous chef, or chef. Since we are a healthy food company, a passion for healthy eating is essential. If you have worked in catering or large scale production, that’s a plus.

The responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with management to develop an efficient kitchen work flow.
  • Collaborate with management to source food supplies.
  • Participate in menu design and recipe formulation.
  • Complete opening/closing checklists.
  • Participate in daily food production.
  • Supervise 1-2 staff members.
  • Maintain food quality and safety standards according to specifications.
  • Provide suggestions and ideas for improving food quality and packaging.
  • Coordinate with marketing activities.

Work schedule:

Monday – Friday, 5 AM – 1 PM (or 6 AM – 2 PM)

Compensation:

$22 - $25 per hour plus a generous profit sharing plan
