GDI is looking for an Lead Network Controller/Operator to work at Scott Air Force Base (AFB), IL. This position requires a minimum of 10 years’ experience with transport/networking technologies.
The ideal candidate is a prior military network administrator with IP and legacy transport and satellite controller experience. This position serves as technical specialist responsible for the monitoring, operating and managing, troubleshooting, and restoring to service any of the components comprising the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) and associated IP networks including data/voice communications equipment, routers, crypto devices (KG-340, KG-175A/D/G, KIV-7, KIV-19), routing, network appliances (e.g., CSU, DSU, etc.). This position performs pro-active monitoring of network elements alarms and alerts to identify those components/elements that may lead to or already are causing network degradation or failure and accomplishes this through use of network management system(s) and associated assets on a continuous (rotating shifts) basis. This position performs fault isolation, diagnostic, and assessment functions to include determination and execution of corrective action(s) on real-time basis and interfaces with functional users as well as remote operations centers in both routine and reactive monitoring situations. Rotating shift work to include nights and weekend duty is required.
-High School diploma or equivalent in education and experience.
-DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification with minimum CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
-Must be US Citizen and have SECRET minimum clearance.
Functional Responsibility and Required Skills:
-Responsible for leading a team of network controllers, report status, and meet task obligations.
-Maintains logs and records associated with reported problems or situations.
-Executes all reporting functions and data input associated with network management.
-Monitors security posture of network(s); reports suspected violations to designated authority.
-Coordinates with configuration management and implementation entities to ensure optimum dissemination of information and network efficiency.
-Performs operator level maintenance on all components and assets associated with network management systems.
-Bachelor’s Degree in IT field or Cyber Security or other technical discipline is highly desired, but not required.
-Prior Military preferred or experience working in a Military Government Contracting environment.
-Remedy GTMS/ITSM experience is a plus. Network+, CCNA, CCENT, JNCIA, CCNP are also desirable.
