The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of medical excellence within the regional/country medical affairs organization to deliver business results and ensure effective deployment of the medical governance framework across the GSK Consumer Healthcare (CH) business.
This position will support the Medical Affairs Therapeutic Leader in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the medical function and ensuring that collaboration with the various business functions, such as the Global Categories, Regional Commercial Leads, Safety, Legal, Corporate Compliance and other functions is performing optimally to meet the needs of the business.
This role is an individual contributor role as part of a specific local medical affairs therapeutic cluster, and will have accountability for- and oversight of the following activities within the complex matrix of multiple regions and stakeholders, cultures, different LOCs, and Category Medical Affairs teams:
Executing the local Medical Affairs operating model to drive results for GSK CH
Implementation of process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Supporting delivery of KPIs to measure success / improvement areas
Supporting the Regional / Country Medical Affairs lead and Regional/ Country Medical Affairs Principal Scientist in delivering the annual goals and objectives, including local innovation and product stewardship activities
Support global medical needs for selected priority brands
With oversight from Regional / Country Medical Affairs lead or Regional/ Country Medical Affairs Principal Scientist drive medical communication and publication strategy across all assigned therapeutic category
At a Regional / Country project specific level, drive execution timelines and support budget management
Initiation and / or implementation of scientific engagement activities with the external medical and scientific community
May act as an interface and / or on behalf of GSK CH with external organizations including Health Authorities, Healthcare Organizations, External Experts, etc.
With oversight from Regional / Country Medical Affairs lead or Regional/ Country Medical Affairs Principal Scientist support Medical Affairs activities including but not limited to:
Input on medical concepts, ethics and consumers safety and well-being,
Development of accurate, technically supported and business-oriented product claims
Medical input to data collection and analysis of GSK CH products and competitors
Evaluation of- and coordinating medical approval where required of promotional materials
These activities will involve building networks with- and working closely with colleagues from cross- functional teams within Regions, Areas and LOCs.

With oversight from Regional / Country Medical Affairs lead or Regional/ Country Medical Affairs Principal Scientist lead provide medical input to REGION regulatory applications, new product development and clinical activities, and business development and acquisition initiatives
Provide medical and technical training of REGION LOCs about GSK CH products and competitors
Act as GSK medical voice in all interactions with consumers, physicians, medical societies, institutions and government bodies. Includes, but not limited to:
To medically support customer enquiry systems which respond to enquiries and complaints
Medical input to answer Consumer Relations questions and complaints as required
Working with the medical information department to evaluate consumer contacts to identify trends and product’s opportunities/ weaknesses
Oversight of Medical Information at the LOC, including collecting, analyzing and communicating medical information trends to regulatory, medical, sales, marketing and commercial functions, enabling trend identification complying with all relevant regulations and professional standards
Supporting appropriate and safe use of all GSK CH products, including generating benefit/risk assessments
Partner with Pharmacovigilance team in order to ensure that GSK CH activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Regulations and Company policies
Support to market information / global insights on data collection and analysis of GSK CH products and competitors
Support GSK CH Medical Governance Framework
Degree in Biomedical Science, Biological Sciences, Medicine, Dentistry or similar
Minimum of 3+ years of Medical Affairs Industry experience operating in a commercial environment, preferably in the Pharma, OTC and/ or Nutritional space
Demonstrated business acumen
Demonstrated project management and organizational skills
Proactive, with ability to anticipate and plan, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions and respond to tight timelines
Ability influence discussions with others
Ability and eagerness to challenge status quo; make quick decisions; and lead/operate successfully in an empowered organization.
Strong communication, influencing and negotiations skills. Ability to facilitate alignment and collaboration across groups/regions.
Higher degree (e.g. PhD, MD, PharmD, RD, or similar)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Prior clinical development experience
Strong computer literacy including competency in Microsoft Office software
Knowledge and understanding of consumer needs and attitudes, customer groups, and opinion leaders
