Full Job Description
Help our U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces customer keep their Cutters and Boats secure and operational by –
Maintain and support SFLC Central to include creating, developing, testing, and maintaining the systems, modules, and system code.
Create custom code(s), patches and other customization(s), etc., as needed; and provide support and services to SFLC Central
Support and maintain the underlying software of SFLC Central, such as the Vibe Platform, Apache, and Java, as well as other supporting systems.
Optimize SFLC Central to perform within acceptable parameters, as outlined by the SFLC Central Local Configuration Control Board (LCCB).
Provide documentation necessary to continue system authorization to include but not limited to technical references for application management and contingency restoration procedures necessary in the event of a catastrophic
incident requiring the application to be completely rebuilt from scratch, and/or backup media.
Collaborate with the SFLC LCCB to provide input with proposed changes that are required to conform to business rules, business processes, and Cybersecurity guidelines.
Provide customized Application module specific training (on-site) to key SFLC personnel, when necessary, in order to provide a basic understanding of the workflow and structure of the services that the product provides.
Develop, deploy in non-production and production environments, and document upgrades and update customizations for Vibe and its supporting subcomponents (Java and Apache Tomcat) from changes approved by SFLC LCCB.
May supervise others. Develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
Analyze user needs and develop software solutions.
Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
May analyze and design databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience.
Provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.
Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management. Decision-making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
