Purpose of the Position:
The Associate Director, Global Pricing and Contracting Strategy will be responsible for implementing and managing strategic pricing and contracting processes across Avanos’ global business units. This leader will also be responsible for designing, developing and implementing dashboards / KPIs through sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable process improvements to minimize price erosion, optimize revenue, and improve profitability. The individual will lead global pricing strategy development and partner with stakeholders in the development of innovative contracting solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Contracting and Offer Development
Supports North America GPO/IDN/IHN strategy development and administers the resultant contract (from bid to compliance) for Avanos’ NA business
Lead the contracting process from start to completion including preparing the financial evaluation, obtaining business unit approval, developing the term sheet, legal review, and contract execution
Supports Tender strategy development and administers the resultant contract (from bid to compliance) for Avanos’ EMEA and APAC businesses
Develop ROI metrics for contracts to maximize value and contract retention and provide input into organizational pull through initiatives to drive additional revenue growth
Own relationship(s) with key Acute Care distributors as needed
Pricing Strategy / Chargebacks and Tracings
Responsible for strategic analysis and administration on pricing for all US customers for Avanos’ business
Administers pricing for OUS Customers shipped direct from US-based Distribution Centers and OUS Avanos affiliates (i.e. transfer pricing)
Responsible for the calculation and payment of all incentives and fees for US GPO’s, Corporate IDN/IHNs, and Distributors
Own and manage pricing analysis for the business units, defining the key metrics and delivering required reporting to all key stakeholders
Partner with Global / Regional Marketing, Corporate / National Accounts to develop Value Based Pricing strategies that capture customer willingness-to-pay and drive profitable growth
Lead and optimize the Pricing Governance Committee (Growth Room) and work closely with key stakeholders to execute business specific pricing strategies
Global owner of Vistex pricing system
Responsible for the support and development of all system enhancements (from idea to implementation) affecting Pricing and Contract Administration for NA SAP/S4 HANA instance and Salesforce.com
Reports to: VP, Commercial Operations
Direct Reports: TBD, team of 20+ members including Europe based team
Cost Center Responsibility: $2M+
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related area or area with strong emphasis towards quantitative analysis (Engineering, etc.). A Master’s degree is preferred but not required.

Minimum five to seven years of experience in Finance and/or Strategic Pricing, preferably with global exposure
Experience managing and developing teams, preferably experience “leading leaders.”
Expert knowledge of MS Excel and strong ability in MS PowerPoint and MS Word are required
Mastery of process improvement tools
Knowledge of SAP/S4 HANA
Experience in medical devices or similar life sciences industry is strongly preferred
Experience using and/or implementing Vistex pricing system is preferred
Global travel is a requirement of this role
