The Internal Controls intern position provides a valuable learning opportunity to develop a working knowledge of the Internal Controls function within a US public company
Areas of responsibility will include assisting with process improvement needs, maintaining controls documentation, automating the control environment and preparing compliance reporting for management

An internship in Tax provides valuable experience in Federal, State & Local tax compliance and planning. The intern will assist in the preparation of:
Federal, State & Local Income Tax Estimates and Returns
State & Local Income Tax Apportionment Workpapers
Property Tax Returns and Payments
Quarterly and Year-end Tax Provision calculations
State Annual Reports/Miscellaneous Licenses
The internal audit internship offers the opportunity to view a large, cross section of the business, developing knowledge of key business processes and systems including SAP. Areas of responsibility will include
Assisting in the execution of risk-based audits of financial processes, company operations, or compliance activities.
Assisting in development of work programs, documentation of work papers, drafting internal audit findings and recommendations, and reporting to senior management,
Identifying and managing financial, operational, compliance, fraud, and information technology risks
Strategy and Corporate Development
The strategic planning internship presents opportunities to see how the company plans for both the short term and long term. The intern will
Work with cross functional teams to ensure successful implementation of projects and analyses to support existing and new corporate strategies.
Assist in the development of the five year plan including strategic and financial components.
Research and identify key global mega trends and the potential impacts on the tire industry and Cooper’s performance and strategies.
Conduct research and evaluate key economic statistics and trends, regionally and globally. Providing monthly and quarterly communication of the statistics with key insights that will impact Cooper’s business units.
Support strategic initiatives through tire market, automotive, consumer, customer and/or competitor analysis and research; effectively sharing valuable insight in trends, market shifts, etc. through regular updates.
Assist in the financial analysis of competitors’ performance. This includes data gathering, research and explanation into competitors’ results.
Effectively communicate research, data and conclusions to support Strategy, Investor Relations, Financial, Sales & Marketing and Board presentations.
The Treasury internship offers an opportunity to view the daily cash management activities globally and in North America which allows Treasury to effectively forecast the future daily cash needs for North American activity. The intern will assist with the following activities:
Generation of the daily and thirteen-week cash forecasts
Oversight of cash forecasting for entities in Mexico
Administration of insurance compliance for third party contractors being utilized by all locations
Entry of foreign exchange rates into SAP
Preparation of month-end closing documentation utilized by Financial Accounting
Migration of current insurance compliance documentation to a new insurance compliance system
Implementation of a Treasury Management System and other special projects as required
An internship in plant accounting provides valuable financial experience in a competitive manufacturing environment. Some responsibilities include:
Assisting with monthly closing process
Analyzing and communicating ad hoc spend reporting to plant management team
Working on various projects throughout the plant focusing on fixed assets, inventory management and overall cost reductions
