We are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager in our Shelbyville, KY location.
This position provides the leadership for the effective management of a specific manufacturing site for Macro Plastics. A key part of this leadership will be the management of manufacturing resources to efficiently and effectively meet production demands. Provide a safe work environment and quality products to our customers that will meet or exceed their expectations. Provide effective planning, implementation and coaching to co-workers to help them perform their duties. This position also is responsible for the overall expenses of the facility and its performance to budget. This position will have direct impact on plant productivity & performance.

Supervises: 6 +
Interacts with: plant personnel, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, vendors, limited customer contact
Administer safety program
o Create a plant culture of safety and safety awareness by managing the plant safety program.
o Conduct regular safety inspections and job safety reviews. Take appropriate corrective action to address safety concerns.
o Investigate all accidents and near misses to determine and address root causes.
o Implement safety training plan.
Direct manufacturing operations
o Perform manufacturing operations with safety first.
o Produce products at with established quality standards.
o Provide adequate, trained staffing.
o Develop and implement productions plans. Schedule production to maximize effectiveness.
o Control all plant budget expense items and costs. Manage capital and expense budgets. Lead cost reduction efforts.
Maintain equipment resources
o Maintain equipment in an effective manner to support production needs.
o Identify new equipment and replacement equipment needs
Analyze results of plant operations to maximize effectiveness
o Track and analyze manufacturing data to determine variances from standards and opportunities for improvements.
o Develop and implement corrective action and continuous improvements to achieve maximum operational efficiencies.
o Investigate and correct customer complaints and quality issues.
o Prepare accurate and timely reports and records.
Manage performance of plant personnel
o All functions performed in a safe manner as per company and OSHA requirements.
o Performance expectations are established and communicated
Performance feedback occurs on a regular basis. Involve direct reports in planning and KPI goal setting and measurement
o Reinforcement occurs in a timely and consistent manner.
o Annual performance reviews are completed and delivered on time.

Ensures that direct report(s) are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the plant responsibilities and goals can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Communicates regularly with all direct report(s), both individually and as a team (if applicable), to ensure good two-way communication concerning progress and other issues.
Conducts employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency, knowledge, and contributions. Manages performance issues within company guidelines, working with Human Resources.
Complies with the Company’s Human Resources policies and procedures, and promotes the awareness of, and compliance with, these policies.
Develop and communicate plans and results to senior/ executive level managers

Qualifications [Knowledge, Experience Skills]:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline is required. (Related work experience can be substituted for educational requirement.) Individuals with strong, direct machinery production experience who have been promoted to supervisory or management positions will be considered.
Related Experience Required:
10 years’ supervisory experience in a production environment is desired
Must be able to manage activities in a planned production environment including: manufacturing, assembly, and materials handling.
Must be knowledgeable in the injection molding process.
Specific Skills Required:
Proficient in MS Office; Outlook, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of ISO standards
Able to read and interpret documents; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
Knowledgeable in mechanical, electrical and hydraulic applications.
Certifications, licenses and or other special requirements:
Valid Driver's license and good driving record may be required
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment that requires contact with high noise and heat levels, dust, grease, oil and other substances
Must follow safe work practices, including required personal protection equipment and protective safety clothing
Light travel may be required
