At our North America headquarters in Adrian, MI, we are currently looking for a Product Cost/ Controlling Analyst. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that product costs accurately reflect the true costs of materials, labor and overhead. The analyst is also responsible for various month end processes and internal management reporting at the corporate level for the legal entities within the NAFTA region. These activities are done in coordination with our local and global colleagues to ensure adherence to timelines and financial guidelines
Your Tasks Create and maintain standard costs for all manufactured products. This includes a review of costs for all raw materials and resale products and the determination of manufacturing labor and overhead rates to ensure appropriate absorption of cost center expense. Update standard costing for all US manufacturing sites on a quarterly or annual basis or when significant changes occur.
Analyze manufacturing variances and discuss appropriate corrective action with Supply Chain personnel to prevent further variances.
Provide technical help in creating, maintaining and deleting recipes and material masters. Serve as a super user for CO-PC and in this capacity help provide solutions when recipes are not set up correctly. Provide training as necessary.
Month end closing processes and data maintenance in relevant controlling modules of SAP.
Assist the controlling department with reporting duties related to business performance, including the preparation of presentations for all levels of management. Provide support for various ad-hoc projects.
Support quarterly and annual audit process through the provision of audit schedules and analysis of inventory costs and manufacturing variances.
Coordinate the annual financial planning cycle. Track the progress of planning related tasks and help to ensure that deadlines are met. Manage and complete product cost planning.
Your Profile Bachelors degree in Accounting , Finance or related field of study.
Minimum 1 year experience in directly applicable financial analysis or controlling experience in the chemical industry or within a similar industrial manufacturer.
Experience with SAP or a similarly integrated ERP system is necessary for the position.
Knowledge of cost accounting concepts and cost allocation methodologies
Strong PC-based computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Effective communication skills, encompassing verbal, written and presentation skills
Ability to work across all functions and levels of the organization, applying influence skills in order to ensure proper controls, support change initiatives, and drive business results
Strong interpersonal skills
