JOB TITLE: Event Manager
The Event Manager coordinates all aspects of housing including negotiating hotel contracts and Inventory Management Software development. The manager also monitors and reports statistical data and adjusts accordingly as needed. Provide the highest level of customer service while managing multiple accounts, corresponding with clients and hotels for various events or conventions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to the client.
Review history of event to ensure current event is on course.
Negotiate and contract room blocks for city wide events as well as one property events.
Manage room blocks and work closely with hotel contacts, work with hotel contacts and GroupMax / RezHub access.
Build and manage housing blocks and event housing website using GroupMaxME / Passkey Software.
Reconcile master account upon completion of event.
Respond and manage email correspondence with delegates.
Coordinate with your Housing Coordinator on all job aspects to ensure client satisfaction.
Work closely with Hotel Sales Manager and Client to meet their expectations.

EXPERIENCE And/or EDUCATION:
Hotel or Group Reservations, Group sales, Hotel Front office, Convention or Event Services experience
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business materials, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and proposals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures for discounts, interests and commissions. Ability to apply mathematical concepts to understand financial statements, budgets and cash flow.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations
Dependable, self-motivated, professional person who works independently with variety of people.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook as well as Windows.
Experience with Passkey, Reglink/Groupmax, registration or property management systems.
Available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary. Some travel may be required.
College degree in Hotel Management or Event planning, or 4-7 years’ experience in conference, event or hotel industry. A reasonable combination of education and experience will also be considered.
