Planning Specialist

This position is responsible for conducting analytics and managing planning systems specific to the successful execution of AVANOS projects to support business objectives and business plans. Planning Specialist will also lead supply chain improvement initiatives and manage recovery of mid/long term and Finished Goods chronic service issues, including managing the allocation process when necessary.

This position will work with business Category Leaders, VP of Operations, Plant Operating and Administrative Teams, S&OP Leader, Procurement, Packaging, Sales and Marketing, Customer Care, Master Data, international and domestic Demand Managers, Distribution, Transportation and Supply Chain Analytics team.

Conduct control tower meetings and/or verify with the help of logistics manager that site manufacturing planner delivers accurate production plans, FG inventory and service projections for a specified category.
Continuously analyze the AVANOS planning process – Identify and implement process and tool improvements across multiple Health Care categories. Work with other AVANOS groups to prioritize and drive improvements to capture impact.
Maintain forecast roll out dates in planning system for specified business category in order to minimize exposure to obsolete finished goods and raw materials.
Lead tactical and chartered projects – this include code rollovers, new product introductions, etc. for specified category.
Collaborate with Deployment Analyst to set forecast splits and sourcing strategy for new product launches.
Provide guidance to the customer service team for the availability of material by analyzing incoming product against demand to keep highest service levels through demand filter process.
Execute the process of finished goods inventory target setting and drive initiatives which help effectively manage total working capital.
Primary contact for manufacturing site planners support in planning systems ’ technical issues (offline tools, SAP, APO, etc.)
Support customer service objectives and working capital objectives.
Leads communication and resolution of service issues with cross functional team for specified category.
Owner of planning master data integrity for assigned category.
Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting a customer-based approach in the level of service provided.

Bachelor ’s Degree related to Supply Chain or equivalent supply chain experience required (1-4 years).
Excellent Analytical and Communication skills
Knowledge of Excel (expert level)
Project Management experience
Forecasting experience preferred
Production planning experience preferred
Knowledge of SAP ECC or S4/Hana, R3, OMP and Business Warehouse preferred.
