The Network Operations Specialist will maintain the voice and data networks for Marsh & McLennan Companies. In this position, you will modify networks utilizing a broad and highly technical knowledge of the business area’s functions and applications in the network architecture, hardware environment, software environment, and departmental procedures and processes. Also, as a Network Operations Specialist you will also provide direction and guidance to other team members.Responsibilities:
Incident and Fault management – Responsible for the operation of 24/7 global voice and data network. Identify and track faults, manage communication and ticketing systems, interface with incident management teams, and resolve issues within governed SLA time frames.
Track network usage capacity in both incident and planning situations. Utilize network capacity planning tools to identify trends that impact business performance.
Network optimization activities involving identifying opportunities to reduce outage events, MTTR, and improve overall performance.
Develop work processes to identify operational practices and standards
Provide supervisory function and direct job guidance to Network Engineers
Direct project level activities that focus on high-value improvement to network operational state and/or improve NOC efficiency
Associate degree in technology preferred, and/or appropriate vendor certifications for network services, specifically Cisco
3-5 years of NOC experience, working in complex networking environment
Strong customer service skills and focus, international experience, broad routing protocol skills, TCP/IP, OSI, supervisory skills
CCNP Certification or strong demonstration of equivalent knowledge
F5, Aruba, and RiverBed Certifications strongly preferred
Must be able to work 3x12 schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays
