About The Role:
The FiOS Installation Technician installs, maintains and upgrades video, data and voice systems. Performs repair work and responds to service problems at customer homes. . Primary goal is to provide quality installation services and excellent customer service experience. This includes ensuring voice, video and data services are operating efficiently and customer is satisfied with their service. Management reserves the right to add, change or revise this job description at any time.
What You’ll Do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Directly responsible for installation or service from the terminal to the customers’ equipment. Installs equipment and network interface units and drop wires into customer location.
Directly responsible for installation or service from the Optical Terminal/Enclosure to the customers’ equipment. Installs Optical Network Terminal (ONT) equipment and network interface units and Optical drops and inside fiber into customer location.
Communicates with customers, encouraging them to upgrade equipment or service packages.
Represents the company and its service philosophy to the customer.
Demonstrates proficiency in and working knowledge of most areas of the installation and service function.
Recognizes deviation from accepted practices and confirms with senior staff appropriate next steps.
Receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
Work is regularly supervised and reviewed for timeliness, accuracy and correct procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Our Perfect Candidate
2 + years relevant work experience in residential, electronic-based installations
Requires possession of work truck, van or SUV and in addition to ladder, tools, valid driver's license and good driving record
Knowledge of RF Test equipment and Fiber Optics test equipment
Safe ladder handling
Requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to climb utility poles, work outdoors year-round, and be unafraid of heights or work in small spaces like crawl spaces and attics
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with customers, peers, and supervisors and follow instructions
Required Abilities and Skills:
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Time management skills to prioritize, meet deadlines and ability to work with little or no supervision
Desire and enthusiastic to learn and be a Team-Player
Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems
Computer skills and savvy
Weekly pay from $800 - $1,200 + mileage and cellphone reimbursements
