Office Hours: September-May, 9:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday

June-August, 9:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday

Summary: The Administrative Assistant performs a wide variety of secretarial and administrative duties with minimal supervision. This position must demonstrate a high regard for confidentiality. Should also demonstrate daily, a committed and professional demeanor regarding the church mission and community/church member relations while performing all duties and responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Personnel Committee of Pilgrim Congregational Church. The position defers to and supports, the Pastor of Pilgrim Congregational Church.

Job Duties:

  • Greets visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Assures office activities and efforts relate positively and directly to the priorities of the church.
  • Reports to the Pastor on a daily basis, keeping him/her informed of all activities performed at the church. Advise the Pastor of all pastoral care and visitation issues.
  • Assists the Pastor in scheduling and maintaining appointments and engagements.
  • Orders supplies for the office and worship services.
  • Maintains general church files, church correspondences, and reports.
  • Assists with help for the needy by dispersing bags of groceries from the Food Pantry and distributing grocery cards.
  • Publishes weekly worship order, monthly newsletter, and bulletins for special services.
  • Creates and sends e-mail events notices.
  • Maintains website and social media postings.
  • Coordinates and process payroll.
  • Processes I-9, W4, CORI, and job application forms.
  • Data entry of contributions.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a High School Diploma required. Some college or business school preferred.

General secretarial skills, computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Publisher, Word), keyboard proficiency.

Minimum of 3 years of general business experience required. Minimum of 3 years prior office or Administrative Assistant or Bookkeeping experience preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $16.00 to $19.00 /hour
