Full Job Description
Earn a $500 sign on bonus! This position is eligible for a $500 sign on bonus, with $250 to be paid after 30 days and $250 to be paid upon completion of job offer.
Performs any combination of duties as directed by the Grounds Manager and/or Lead Gardener in order to maintain all gardens, property grounds, and golf course in a safe and functional condition. Assists in other departments or other job duties as requested or necessary.
Operates riding mowers of various sizes safely and as trained to groom lawns and golf course areas.
Operates small hand held power equipment such as string trimmers, push mowers, hedge trimmers, aerators, topdressers, tillers, chainsaws, and backpack blowers.
Repair and maintain all fences, walls, and walkpaths throughout the property, including the golf course. This may include painting of wooden fences and handling barbed wire fencing.
Assist with planting of gardens and flower beds at various GPC locations
Watering of lawns (including 40-50 acres of golf course), gardens, and flower containers either by hand, water truck, or setting up various hoses and sprinklers.
Performing basic golf course related tasks such as moving tee markers, setting up ropes and stakes for traffic control, moving or changing putting locations, and cleaning ballwashers.
May at times be asked to assist in the application of turf care products like fertilizer and pesticides.
Routinely required to perform basic manual labor tasks including, but not limited to:
Prepping and/or cleaning landscape and garden areas using small hand tools or manually pulling weeds.
Hand digging with a shovel or spade.
Picking up trash or emptying trash receptacles.
Raking and collection of leaves or other debris for removal.
Edging sidewalks or pathways.
“Dead heading” or selective pruning of flowers.
This list of duties is intended to be representative of many of the tasks associated with this role.

otherwise change duties at their discretion based on the needs of the business.
Experience with garden tools, mowers, chain saws and various grounds machinery is preferred.
Must have desire to work outdoors with tools, plants, dirt, etc.
Must be a hard worker and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
Must be courteous and friendly in dealing with co-workers.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with a solid attention to detail.
Must bring a keen eye for detail, organization, safety and cleanliness to improve GPC operations
Must bring a positive, helpful, team-oriented, “we can do this together” attitude to all aspects of the job that inspires others
Must exhibit a real curiosity about the business for GPC and for Pursuit overall
Must ask good questions and drill down into details to improve the business
Must process information quickly and take initiative to recommend solutions to challenges
Must stay cool under pressure by being resilient, adaptable and flexible
Successful applicants for this position may require an additional pre-employment drug test to be discussed during the interview process due to additional duties involving vehicle operation.
