As a member of this team you will support CDM Smith's vision by:
- Routinely Performs complex CADD assignments and routine to moderate design assignments under general direction, which require the application of fundamental design techniques in accordance with firm and industry standards and codes. Detailed instructions are provided by immediate supervisor for assignments involving introduction to basic design concepts. This is the transitional position where the incumbent is expected to begin developing a basic working knowledge of fundamental design concepts, but
primarily is expected to be versatile in performing senior-level drafting assignments, pre-dominantly in 2D but
incumbent must have the ability to perform fundamental 3D technology tasks. This is the entry-level design
High school diploma with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and/or 3D drafting with
11 years’ direct and relevant CADD/Design experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience). Has a 2-
year degree in drafting/design technology and/or graphic/multimedia 3D model design, the candidate should have 8 years’ direct and relevant experience; or has a 4-year degree in drafting/design technology and/or
graphic/multimedia 3D model design, the candidate should have 7 years’ direct and relevant experience.
The incumbent must possess an advanced knowledge of core 2D CADD applications (such as AutoCAD and/or
MicroStation), along with at least 2 years of continuous 3D technologies experience in a production environment.
Software experience should include intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Office for design related tasks and discipline specific design/analysis software primarily within the CADD environment.
