The Home Office Accounting Operations Team is responsible for all company brands worldwide. The Team includes Sales Audit, Real Estate Accounting, Accounts Payable, & Inventory Control departments. The Accounts Payable Manager will be a key contact for merchandise, non-merchandise & transportation payables. Role requirement include: an in-depth financial management system comprehension, the ability to constantly train both internal & external partners, and project management skills as well as manage five direct reports.
What Will You Be Doing?
Team leadership with growth opportunity in a department responsible for all company payables activity including day-to-day operations, review of general ledger reconciliation & journal entries, and process improvement implementation
Immediate cross-functional project responsibilities related to company initiatives & the group’s current efficiency focus; including internal control updates & execution, standardizing processes, converting to systems
Develop expertise in company & department specific systems, including daily troubleshooting, ad hoc improvements & fixes, and upgrade testing & sign-off
Communicate with a diverse group of business partners across all levels of the company and externally, which includes leading & representing the department in meetings, and challenging partners & current processes appropriately
Direct partner with international Accounts Payable teams, requiring frequent interaction with Switzerland & Hong Kong to align on payables standards
Create & analyze new department reporting tools, including performance & productivity indicators and invoice discrepancy analytics
What Do You Need to Bring?
Bachelor’s Degree in Business
5+ years of relevant business experience (Accounting &/or Finance Operations)
Prior experience in a team lead role with interest in developing management skills
Financial Management Systems experience & interest required – Oracle / Peoplesoft Finance knowledge preferred
Self-starter - able to independently work, learn & plan with minimal guidance to drive projects to conclusion
Organized with the ability to multi-task & problem solve in a fast-paced environment
Established business communication skills and customer service understanding
Microsoft Excel proficient - interfaces & upload knowledge a plus
General accounting concept knowledge
