Executes the branding and communications strategy, supporting a well-informed workforce and a dynamic internal culture. Also responsible for establishing a strong brand presence through community events and sponsorships, and cultivating strategic business partnerships within the community and with select employer groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists with the development and execution of internal communications strategy. Writes and posts content for communication actions including employee news, organization-wide emails, executive communications, and internal campaigns.
Manages communication requests from internal departments. Edits, drafts and aligns communications with internal communication standards, goals, and strategy.
Assists in the management and development of the intranet, leveraging technology to continually improve communications and employee engagement.
Promotes employee engagement by producing creative content and story-telling to support our brand position.
Develops and maintains a strategy for consistently messaging about the “TPI Difference” to TPI employees to build a loyal and well-informed work force.
Assists with the development and TPI Iowa’s community relations strategy, and communications program.
Assists the HR team in coordinating company events, such as fundraisers, volunteer events, and job fairs and the coordination and tracking of sponsorships, charitable and volunteer programs.
Represents and coordinates participation at community events and programs and business/community associations meetings.
Maintains relationships employer groups, creating a network of contacts and cultivating partnership opportunities.
Sponsors and coordinates facility tours and visits from external agencies, educational institutions, employer groups, and government officials.
Works with supervisors and managers to ‘build our brand’ by fostering a fair and positive work environment for employees and community stakeholders.
Assist with recruits, interviews, tests, and selection of employees to fill vacant positions
Assist with designing, planning and delivering new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Trains management in telling the TPI story during interviews, etc.
Advises management regarding opportunities to be a community partner.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or public relations preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two years’ experience in a professional communications or public relations environment; human resources generalist experience preferred.
Prior experience drafting and editing communications.
Prior experience working on community relations or community involvement campaigns.
Technology savvy and proficient in the use of intranet software applications such as SharePoint, Passageways or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and navigating the internet.
Basic graphic design skills.
Excellent public speaking skills to make effective, persuasive presentations to both large and small groups. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Excellent, accurate writing skills stressing creativity, composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and ability to work independently as well as with others to resolve problems effectively.
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
