We are seeking an experienced Executive Vice President and global account leader to oversee integrated digital, social, and public relations engagements for one of our largest clients in the pharmaceuticals sector.
The Executive Vice President is the seniormost client leader position, responsible for developing and overseeing the execution of all integrated initiatives, from strategy and creative development through multimedia/multichannel executions and performance measurement.
An ideal candidate possesses experience creating digital marketing, traditional television/broadcast advertising, and public relations programs for pharmaceutical companies, primarily targeted at consumers (patients).
S/he must also have a track record of delivering business growth for the agency through superior service quality, conversion of formal and informal new business opportunities, senior client relationship management, and a consultative approach to client partnership.
This is a global role with global responsibilities, currently focused on the East Coast of the United States and Europe.
What you’ll do:
Be accountable for the success of SVP/VP-level account leads delivering global and local client engagements - from strategic development to creative concept and performance measurement.
Ensure client challenges are met through a tactic- and channel-neutral approach, whether the need is search engine marketing, paid social media campaigns, attention-grabbing public relations activations, digital video, and beyond.
Partner with agency strategy teams to identify and articulate business challenges and the role of communications in addressing them.
Foster collaboration among creative, strategy, internal earned media experts and third-party media agencies to help develop and execute comprehensive strategies that exemplify ahead-of-the-curve marketing techniques and channel planning, integrating digital, broadcast, and earned media as required to deliver on client business objectives.
Partner with senior agency and client technology leaders to define insights, measurement and testing methodologies (spanning programmatic video, search, social media, and 1st/2nd/3rd party data) and connect them to related business objectives.
Assist in recruiting and developing talent across account, strategy, and creative functions.
Act as pitch lead for your client’s formal and informal new business development opportunities, identifying, representing and advising on the best solutions to meet client business objectives
Manage multiple accounts for business growth and profitability in partnership with project management and finance teams
Have 15+ years of experience in client-side marketing, or a digital or creative agency, including significant multi-market/global experience.
Possess a thorough command of pharmaceutical advertising regulations and principles in the Americas and Europe, and experience launching branded and unbranded campaigns in the US market, primarily focused on consumers (patients). HCP marketing experience a definite plus but not required.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the public relations field, including executive positioning, media relations, event production, and creative strategy. Some exposure to issues management/crisis communications a plus but not required.
Demonstrate thorough understanding of digital marketing technologies and best practices (from search marketing and web design to social media advertising, influencer marketing, e-commerce, and application development).
Demonstrate an understanding of how the traditional creative development process works (from client briefing to development, production, and measurement) and how to improve or adapt it based on client needs.
Possess sophisticated client service skills, including energy and passion for solving problems within client budget constraints.
Bring a positive attitude to all your work to motivate collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
Be able to effectively communicate and persuade client contacts from senior global business leaders to junior brand managers.
Be able to analyze and synthesize data from research and analytics teams to provide counsel that aids client decision-making.
Demonstrate the ability to apply previous experience working with client procurement, project managers and agency finance to deliver profitability against fixed-fee client contracts.
