The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for an academic Comprehensive Care Pediatrician, with clinical experience and/or training in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Hospitalist Medicine, Palliative Care, or in other related areas. We seek candidates with several years of experience in the care of children with chronic, complex conditions. The Comprehensive Care Pediatrician will provide ambulatory and inpatient consultative care for children with medical complexity at Primary Children’s Hospital (PCH) and University of Utah Health. Clinical responsibilities include teaching in outpatient and inpatient settings at PCH. In addition to clinical care and teaching, there is an expectation for academic work.

The Comprehensive Care Program is an innovative program of team-based care designed to deliver high value healthcare for children with high medical complexity, high medical fragility, technology dependencies and developmental disabilities. Specialist/generalist partnerships provide the foundation for this program.

Qualified candidates must be board eligible/board certified in General Pediatrics and/or in another related specialty. Preference will be given to candidates with experience and/or training in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Hospitalist Medicine, Palliative Care, or in other related areas; and who have prior clinical experience caring for children with medical complexity. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure Track, at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
