Lexipol (former Praetorian Digital) is seeking a Junior Instructional Designer in online education with experience developing the online training curriculum. We have the most extensive library in the world for public safety and local government online training. In particular, we’re looking for a highly self-motivated and driven individual who shares our vision for helping keep our communities safe and isn’t afraid of rolling up their sleeves to create, edit, and improve online course materials.

Ideal candidates are instructional designers who can author new content and ensure consistent content quality across a wide range of formats and multiple customer segments. Qualified applicants should have experience using various software tools and be comfortable with all aspects of the educational design process from researching and writing new content to update an existing library with more than 1,000 courses.

Responsibilities

Adhere to the standard ADDIE methodology for instructional design
Understand and use adult learning principles in training design
Use project management principles to ensure comprehensive execution of training design project.
Develop materials (e.g. objectives, instructor and participant materials, job aids, and reinforcement materials).
Design, conduct and analyze surveys, tests, and interviews to determine training needs.
Identify and interview the subject matter experts and target audiences to determine performance gap and scope.
Recommend solution that takes into account organizational direction, scope, non-training and alternatives.
Become familiar with each of the sales channels supported by the team.
Prepare a comprehensive training plan to meet the learning need.
Manage content review process which includes, validating learning objective, incorporating changes as needed into materials and course effectiveness.
Coordinate implementation of newly developed curriculum with internal customers, training delivery partners and management.
Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with limited guidance and demonstrate problem solving skills
Ability to work within a collaborative environment demonstrating strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Manage multi projects simultaneously.
Work within aggressive timeframes.
Adhere to established work standards to ensure best in training deliverables
Basic Project management and planning skills
Solid HTML skills
Ability to lead a project with limited guidance. Intermediate skills in Adobe Captivate or equivalent software, Microsoft Power Point, Photoshop and Word
Education and Background

Bachelor’s degree program in Instructional Design, Web Design, Education, Business, Communication or related field.
Candidates should have background experience, skills, and/or education appropriate to position description.

5 days a week
