CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a California Medical License
  • Must possess a valid DEA License
  • Board Certified Physician in Pain Management
  • Minimum 1-year experience in general surgery
  • Substantial experience with device implantations
  • Strong skills in fluoroscopy and ultrasound-guided interventional strategies
  • Focus on whole patient care
  • Strong commitment to long-term patient care
  • Thoughtful leadership, team play, and communication skills
  • Leadership experience
  • Able to maintain positive, productive and professional relationships with fellow employees and business line managers
  • Working understanding and familiarity with current pain management literature
  • Desire to be involved in clinical research and therapy development

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report directly to the Manager of Clinical Operations
  • Takes direction from the Medical Director and the CEO
  • Take a significant role in determining the strategy, direction and growth of NPI
  • Understand current trends in neuroscience and pain management research
  • Work with other business unit leaders, including the Neurovations Clinical Research team, Clinical Education Manager,
  • BioSkills Laboratory Manager, Marketing Manager, Surgery Center, and Financial Team
  • Present clinical topics and case studies to the clinical team, and community Physicians and health care providers
  • Development of new patient referrals and community awareness of our services
  • Commitment to helping all parts of our organization succeed
  • Patient Care Responsibilities:

- Outpatient consultations and follow-up evaluations
- Inpatient consultations and follow-up evaluations
- Coordination of Care with other community Physicians and health care providers
- Pharmacologic management of pain and related conditions
- Spinal and peripheral interventional procedures and injections guided by ultrasound and fluoroscopy
- Trial procedures for implanted infusion pumps and neurostimulation
- Surgical implantation of intrathecal infusion pumps and neurostimulation systems
- Refilling, reprogramming and long term management of neuromodulation devices
- Teaching, mentoring, and supervising mid-level practitioners
- Providing hope, compassion, and sound medical advice to our patients and our community
Established in 1992, the Napa practice includes an integrated Ambulatory Surgery Center, and a Licensed Clinical Laboratory. NPI is also deeply involved in clinical research, and is a sponsoring partner in several national continuing medical education conferences.

Napa Pain Institute:

  • Sees more than 20,000 patients per year
  • Manages hundreds of neuromodulation devices
  • Has worked on more that 25 clinical trials in the last five years, in neuromodulation, minimally invasive spine and pharmacologic areas
