Front line when it comes to hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting. They will maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facility equipment including electrical support equipment such as stand-by diesel generators and related fuel systems, 3 phase electrical systems that include but not limited to switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, batteries and associated systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAH units, centrifugal chillers, cooling towers/water chemical system, air handlers and associated systems, pumps, and motors. Additional support equipment is included in the scope of the role which includes fire suppression systems, building automation systems, and general facilities equipment.
Supervises and lead assigned personnel, maintaining a safe and efficient work place
Maintain engineering systems and drawings and equipment, including boilers, chillers, HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS systems, etc.
Organizes CMMS traceability efforts back to design intent, focusing on trend analysis and root cause investigation.
Constantly reinforce critical mission and support complexity to all employees and subcontractors working in, and supporting, critical facility operations
Provides leadership to establish a strong team relationship among employees, customers, business partners, subcontractors, and other vendors
Responds to facility emergency situations providing guidance to personnel ensuring rapid and effective situation recovery minimizing asset damage
Establish shift coverage schedules; develop, coordinate, and support site labor, overtime, and material budgets
Determine, recommend, and manage site critical MOP (method of procedure) requirements. Assist in the capital planning process; plan, schedule, track, and report work accomplishment and cost estimate performance
Manage the day-to-day performance of personnel and subcontractors, including quality control evaluation and program management
Plan and schedule internal and subcontract work within budgetary constraints, quality standards, and established DISA O&M guidelines
Coordinate with various departments concerning service needs such as Customer Service, Customer Call, Building Operations and Facility Operations
Review and process timesheets and invoices
Oversee and coordinate all scheduled maintenance activities
Perform construction project review and assist with construction project inspections
Manage operations to meet the operational goal of 100% uptime and at least (4) 9's of reliability of the facility infrastructure supporting designated critical systems.
Lead and direct mission critical facility and/or data center O&M personnel performing preventive, predictive, corrective, and general facilities maintenance activities
Perform other related duties as requested.
Reports to the O&M Project Manager
A minimum of ten years of progressive hands-on experience in an environment with Critical complex equipment with levels of redundancy and efficiency.
A minimum of five years supervisory experience in O&M of large complex commercial buildings and mission critical environments. Data center experience preferred
Strong electrical and HVAC background in areas including UPS and emergency power systems, Chillers and Cooling Towers-PM Requirements and attention
Ability to read and interpret facility blueprints and electrical schematics
Experience with Building Automated Systems
Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes and regulations
Contract management experience helpful
Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain composure under stressful emergency situations
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer literacy including a working knowledge of MS Project and the MS Office Suite
Fluent/Experience in a Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
A demonstrated ability to identify, analyzes, and resolves complex problems associated with general construction, and maintenance/repair of commercial facilities.
Possess an active Engineering License in (determined by location of services)
DoD Secret clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one.
