To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire an Associate to join our Direct Credit Investing / Co-Investment team in Philadelphia.
The Associate will be responsible for evaluating mostly credit-oriented investment opportunities both through a direct credit / co-investment model. The Co-Investment Team at Hamilton Lane currently manages approximately $6 billion in discretionary capital and invests across a widely diverse set of geographies (within and outside the U.S.) and industry sectors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform fundamental credit analysis and in depth company specific due diligence
Monitor existing investments by analyzing and reporting on portfolio companies’ financial results
Create and assess complex financial models
Prepare detailed credit memorandum
Present investment opportunities to senior executives of the firm
Supervise analysts on the team in the performance of their duties
Assist in prospective and existing client meetings
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS; Education and/or Experience:
Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant credit investment experience at an investment bank, broad based high yield and/or leveraged loan fund manager.
Candidates must have a strong credit background; proficient in all phases of capital structure analysis, including valuation analysis of leveraged loans, high yield bonds, distressed securities as well as Private Debt Investments (Senior and Junior).
Candidates must be comfortable with the Global Fixed Income markets (particularly US leveraged loans)
Strong academic credentials
Outstanding academic record
Ability to conduct industry research, articulate opinions and write clear and concise memoranda on investment opportunities
Strong written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong interest and commitment to private markets investing
Strong work ethic, professional demeanor and appearance
Willingness to work 50+ hours / week and travel 10+% of time
