We are a smaller company so YOUR voice is heard each and every day. The ideal candidate will have significant experience providing behavioral and parent training including behavioral intervention of children with autism, developmental delays and similar behavioral concerns, assessment of children’s needs using appropriate psychometric assessment tools and consultation with colleagues and community organizations. They will be comfortable leveraging a variety of learning strategies and platforms to best support the educational and therapeutic needs of the children. This position will report directly to our Clinical Director as well as the CEO.
Shine Behavioral is a unique, passionate multi-disciplinary therapy center for Autistic children from ages 2-12 and growing to accept pre teens and teens now in our new building to focus on daily living and social skills! Shine Behavioral is hiring both a full time clinic BCBA and a BCBA to oversee the students in our NPO private Autism Academy. The Academy candidate will assist in servicing students on the spectrum at Shine Behavioral Academy, our partner school to the Shine Behavioral LLC clinic. Special Education background is a plus!!
About Shine Behavioral Academy:
The course work at The SHINE BEHAVIORAL ACADEMY will be individualized for all students. The program will not be grade determinant, and the students will work at a level commensurate to his/her abilities. We accept both verbal and non-verbal students. We believe that the ability to learn comes in all forms, shapes and sizes and we must adjust our curriculum to teach to students with varied sensory, communication and learning challenges. Acceptance will be determined by the initial evaluation performed prior to enrollment.
Providing our students with that little bit of extra effort and quality makes all the difference! We currently offer two small classrooms with a low ratio of student to teacher and paraprofessional, every classroom has a designated teacher present at all times. Little extras like a BEAM laser projection system with hundreds of educational games, a rock climbing wall, custom lighting that can be adjusted for our students and an outdoor play area for gross motor activities, socialization and a safe place to get all that energy out make all the difference!
We have just added over 10,000 square feet of therapy space making our property over 20,000 sq feet in total! This is a unique opportunity to be a part of something special as we continue to support our community in all areas to help build a program providing freedom and creativity to create the optimal therapy center! Help us to change the standard of quality of ABA therapy , Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Education for our ASD kiddos in the DFW area!
BCBA responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and provide direct training to all Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), as well as any BCBA grad-students.
- Maintain a caseload of 10-12 clients, who may attend the attached Academy program, and provide direct therapy and/or direct supervision to clients in the clinic settings when needed.
- Provide parent, teacher, and staff training on the direct principles of ABA and behavior modification.
- Conduct functional behavioral and verbal assessments /analyses (VBMAPP, Vineland III, PEAK, FBA, QABF, etc) on incoming clients who will receive both ABA and individualized education via the Academy.
- Customize treatment plans to meet individual needs based on assessment and monitor client progress towards goals.
- Assist with administrative tasks to include, insurance paperwork, assisting with scheduling, managerial duties, etc.
- Ensure compliance with insurance requirements for session notes, treatment plans and supervision, treatment authorizations and RBT requirements, etc
- Maintain case files per center standards.
- Assists in program development in partnership via consulting agreement with renowned Autism clinic.
- Assist Clinical Director and Assistant Clinical Director in all aspects of day to day clinician management and development.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the school BCBA will:
~ Work directly with the Academy to provide BCBA support in the school setting and collaborate on behavioral support and BIPs.
~ Support lead teacher of the Academy in completing assessments for incoming students and providing behavior plans/recommendations for other students as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree from accredited university in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Minimum 2 years of experience as a BCBA preferred
Minimum 4 years experience preferred providing ABA services to children with Autism and other developmental disorders (this can be prior to becoming a BCBA as a Registered Behavior Technician)
License or certification and credentialing that would allow for insurance billing.
Experience facilitating social interaction in children with autism in group settings.
Knowledge of conducting skill and behavioral assessments (VB-MAPP, etc.)
Expertise in development of skill acquisition and behavior reduction program.
