The Commons, located in Minneapolis, is the headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Approximately 1,600 corporate and administrative service employees work at offices within Midtown Exchange, the site of the historic Sears retail complex at Chicago Avenue and E. Lake Street. This community landmark, adjacent to the campus of Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of Allina Health, is the second largest building in Minnesota and includes offices, an internationally themed public market and residential units.
The Diversity Consultant will manage, support, and consult with internal and external partners in bringing Diversity and Inclusion strategies to life. This position will partner with hospital and department leaders to execute strategic objectives that demonstrate Allina Health’s commitment to valuing and leveraging diversity and inclusion. Responsible for reviewing current programs, establishing and maintaining all programs associated with diversity and inclusion including but not limited to Employee Resource Groups, Operational Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committees, Training and Education programs, and participation in external benchmarks. This position will be responsible for the assessment and evaluation of program needs across the organization.
Support the execution and advancement of the Allina Health D&I strategy. This may include (but not limited to) collaboration and programmatic efforts with talent acquisition, talent management, business facing HR colleagues and/or other areas in support of key business needs, goals and objectives.
Provide oversight and guidance of Allina Health’s employee/business resource groups; Foster the growth of new and existing by building collaborative relationships with allies, leads, and members.
In partnership with Learning & Development team, drive the development and implementation of D&I education and learning initiatives that will further enhance the organization’s D&I capabilities
Guide the development and implementation of all learning programs.
Program Development and Deployment:
Collaborate with Business Units to determine plans and programming.
Evaluates the effectiveness of all programs and acts to address findings associated with all program evaluations
Gain acceptance and creates strong partnerships with leaders and HR business partners for deployment and evaluation
Strategizes with business unit leadership around priorities in relationship to strategic initiatives and learning solutions
Develop Allina Health’s strategy and plan for Employee Resource Groups
Identifies and partners with external organizations to implement the programs that match Allina Health needs that focus on diversity and inclusion
Collect and ensure quality, accurate and timely D&I data and reporting; Measure progress and identify opportunities including the annual Affirmative Action reports
Partner with the Communications to effectively and authentically tell our D&I story (internal & external)
Manage the coordination of Affirmative Action planning for Allina Health
Manage internal and external D&I content on websites
Stay abreast of global data and trends in the industry and maintain up-to-date knowledge of global diversity, inclusion and belonging.
Manage the distribution of the diversity dashboard
Coordinate system D &I committee meetings including quarterly diversity reviews
Bachelor's degree in Education or Industrial Psychology or related field, masters degree preferred.
5+ years of experience managing diversity and inclusion in highly matrixed organization or worked within the Human Resources field. Minimum of 5 years working with diversity, inclusion and employee, and community initiatives
Experience in developing internal and external communication for print, presentation or other media outlets.
Experience in managing vendor or sub-contractor relations with diverse suppliers.
Monday-Friday, normal office hours
