GRANT FUNDED POSITION – Continued Employment Pending Grant Renewal
Qualifications: Qualifications: This position requires an Associate’s degree. A Bachelor’s degree specializing in math, science, or education is preferred. One (1) year teaching, graduate internship, or relevant tutoring experience is required. Experience working at the post-secondary level and experience in a support center is desired. Experience tutoring in the areas of algebra, statistics, calculus and biology, chemistry and anatomy & physiology is desired.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will provide academic assistance and personalized support in a learning-centered environment to students enrolled in the TRiO Student Support Services program; possess advanced professional training that gives them the ability to tutor in basic and difficult levels of math and science; assist students with using computers as they relate to online classes; and prepare and conduct learning strategy workshops.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The successful candidates must be able to relate to and work with students individually and/or in small groups, exercise good judgment, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. He or she will exercise strong organizational skills; work in a multiple-task environment; promote positive student, faculty and staff relations as well as relate to the adult student population. The successful candidates will use computer software programs including Microsoft Office Suite and assist students with conducting Internet research. Knowledge in other subject areas is a plus.
The minimum salary is $13.79/hour, 25 hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits.

Working Hours: This position is part-time, 25 hours per week, and may require evening hours as needed. Work schedule may vary from semester to semester and include hours on the Daytona and Deland Campuses.
