An Open Door Adoption Agency (AOD) has been established and licensed as a private, non-profit, Christian agency since 1986. AOD is seeking a part-time, Spanish speaking adoption consultant to work with our International Adoption team to assist families through the process of adoption of orphaned children in Latin American programs.
This position will include:
- Providing education and counseling to adoptive families around adoption issues and adopting an older child
- Assisting adoptive parents in navigating the home study, immigration, and foreign country requirements for the purpose of international adoption
- Use clinical skills and judgment to ensure the best interest of the child
- Communicate with families, team members, and officials in our Latin American programs using Spanish Language as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited program of social work; or a combination of a bachelor's degree and prior experience in family and children's services, adoption, or intercountry adoption.
- Spanish Language skills (written and spoken)
Preferred qualifications
- A masters degree from an accredited program of social work or related human service field
- Spanish Language skills. (written and spoken)
- Preferred location, Atlanta, Georgia, or Georgia, but not required.

Notes:
- This can be a remote position with the expectation of availability during regular office hours
- May require occasional travel to the home office in Thomasville, GA
- Potential for travel to the foreign country
- Part time at twenty hours a week
