JOB SUMMARY
Delivers on University Credit Unions core purpose of giving the University Community a financial advantage by building and nurturing relationships and programs within designated authority. Responsible for contributing to the teams overall success by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative activities related to servicing & resolution of consumer and real estate loans. Analyzes and prioritizes between multiple tasks on a daily basis to ensure service levels are maintained and achieved. Ensures that the Credit Union's professional image is maintained.
LOCATION
We are passionate about attracting great talent to our team, so this position will be a hybrid arrangement with travel expectations to designated university partners and CU locations.

1 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Contact members with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments.
b. Ascertain members financial position and the reason for delinquency.
c. Discuss and educate members of assistance options
d. Document contacts and attempted contacts with delinquent account members as well as well as any payments collected from the customer.
e. Take member one-time payments and set up re-occurring payments.
f. Discuss member account payment history and resolve disputes.
g. Answer credit related question and educate member about how credit reporting works.
h. Post checks to delinquent accounts.
i. Process incoming mail, post checks and distribute notices to proper team members
j. Other duties as assigned
2. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relations with Credit Union personnel and with management.
a. Assists and supports the Account Resolution department.
b. Coordinates with related departments and obtains or conveys information as needed.
c. Attends and participates in meetings as required.
d. Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Actively supports UCU core values, mission and vision statements, and demonstrates commitment to member service and UCU organizational success.
3. Assumes responsibility for ensuring that professional business relations are established and maintained with Credit Union members.
a. Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation throughout Account Resolution operations and in all contacts with members.
b. Maintains confidentiality.
4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
a. Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
b. Completes special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Coursework in typing and general office skills.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of related computer applications.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prior collection experience helpful, particularly in a financial environment.

Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel up to 20% of the time to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular reliable, and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.

Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
