Reports directly to CEO

The Production Operations Manager manages production, kitchen inventory and distribution for Tin Pot Creamery. They oversee the daily operations of a high volume production kitchen, maintain the kitchen facilities and ensure the kitchen exceeds regulations and health code standards. Additionally, they oversee and supervise deliveries and ensure all retail store, catering, wholesale and ecommerce deliveries are fulfilled on time and in an efficient manner. The Production Operations Manager has ordering, interviewing, hiring, training and people management duties. They must be highly adaptable with a growth mindset and have the ability to problem-solve and strategize.

Duties & Responsibilities::
Responsible for daily production and delivery operations
Responsible for production facilities and delivery vehicle upkeep, including keeping maintenance logs and contacting service companies for maintenance and repairs as needed
Manage kitchen workflow including delegating tasks appropriately to meet production deadlines
Ensure all orders are filled and delivered accurately and on time.
Ensure daily production lists and delivery schedules are appropriate
Ensure team is adequately staffed and operating smoothly
Fill in anywhere needed to ensure efficient operations
Prepare all menu items following recipes and know what products should look and taste like
Enforce product quality standards and lead quality assurance program: fix or discard problem products immediately, investigate and fix source of problem
Responsible for consistently sourcing the highest quality ingredients at best prices, and finding alternate sources as needed
Responsible for ensuring product is organized and FIFOed consistently and accurately.
Coordinate and ensure accuracy of all deliveries and transfers with delivery drivers
Hire, oversee, train, and discipline staff
Provide realtime feedback to team and follow company employee review process
Delegate tasks to team and help them with time management and efficiency
Manages team according to the Tin Pot Manager’s Philosophy
Responsible for employee schedule and HR compliance
Forecast, track and manage staffing, operational and production needs with respect to budgets
Review and influence monthly P&L
Inventory management
Minimize waste
Works with CEO on product development and refinement of current products
Oversees product launches
Manages projects by initiating, planning and executing all aspects to achieve specific goals
Make important decisions regarding prioritization, delegation and streamlining operations
Ordering and purchasing duties
Ensures all deliveries are received and checked in
Communicates with vendors and internally re: orders/deliveries/changes etc.
Responsive and communicative across the company consistently and honestly
Maintain clean kitchen that exceeds health code standards.
Point person for inspectors including the Milk and Dairy board quarterly inspections.
Enforce food safety sanitation practices
Coach, teach and demonstrate sound customer service principles to staff
Enforce company policies and guidelines
Assesses what is best for overall company when making decisions
Maintain knowledge of correct maintenance and use of truck and equipment; use only as intended
Other duties as assigned

At least 6 years in management role
At least 4 years working in a commercial kitchen
Has or is willing to obtain a ServSafe Manager food handler’s certificate within 2 weeks of hire
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and operation
6 months commercial driving experience, experience driving a 16 foot box truck preferable
Basic computer knowledge (Google suite)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Pastry, culinary or other kitchen training program graduate a plus
