ATHLETICS FACILITIES & EVENTS ASSISTANT
Salary Range: $11.00 - $140.00/ Hourly
Work Schedule: On-Call. Hours to be determined. Must be available for weekdays, weekends and home game matches; non-exempt classification. Appointment expires on or before June 30, 2019.
Essential Job Functions: Under the supervision of the Facilities and Events Manager, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of athletic event participants and spectators, and assisting in athletic game day operations. Responsibilities include: setting up and taking down tables, chairs, and other event apparatus; monitoring event entrance and exit points; and/or serving as the event public address announcer, statistician, ball retriever, ticket seller, game videographer, game editor, game sound technician, live social media contributor, running the shot clock and/or scoreboard, running game day promotions and contests; assisting in marketing and promotions as well as athletic contest and/or fundraiser events; and assisting with the maintenance and organization of athletic facilities/venues.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Incumbent must be mature, responsible, trustworthy and reliable. Must have the ability to: work flexible hours during the various sports seasons; maintain a neat appearance as a representative of the University; work efficiently, effectively and agreeably under pressure; and work independently and well with others. Demonstrated interest and/or ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.
Special Desired Qualifications: Willingness and ability to be courteous and maintain a neat appearance as a representative of the University.
