Construction Project Manager

Position is based in California and travel to NYC and territories is required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drive new Shake Shack projects to be delivered on Schedule & on Budget

Manage and/or delegate tasks to the project team to ensure the project remains and delivers on schedule
Coordinate owner vendor activities (e.g., kitchen equipment supplier, low voltage installer, specialty kitchen vendors, etc.)
Monitor submission of applications to local authorities for utility and service accounts for new Shacks
Review and approve sequence and duration of tasks in project schedules
Make regular site visit to identify and expedite resolution of design and means-and-methods issues and conflicts
Monitor status of submittals and RFIs
Represent Shake Shack at weekly project meetings
Coordinate timing of landlord work with Shake Shack General Contractor deliverables
Represent Construction function at all Squad Meetings
2. Financial Administration

Review and recommend final construction budgets for approval
Review and process contractor invoices for payment
Review, negotiate, and approve change orders
Work with Development counterparts to track project costs
3. Monitor Permits and Licenses during close out process for new Shake Shack Projects

Work with Mgr of Licenses and Permits to ensure that all necessary applications are filed and monitor issuance of permits and operating licenses to coincide with opening dates
4. Identify and Implement Cost Reduction Opportunities

Work with External Vendors and contractors to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities during site feasibility, design and construction phases
Continuously monitor industry best practices to identify cost and time efficiencies
Skills & Knowledge

Ability to read and understand Architectural and MEP Construction Documentsand translate into a built environment
Excellent skills in managing outside consultants, maintaining budgets, and delivery on timelines.

Four Year Degree from accredited institution in engineering, architecture, construction management or related discipline
Minimum of 8+ years experience in construction project management on General Contractor and/or Owner side
Experience working in Restaurants and Hospitality a plus
