Job Summary:
Under the direction of the F&N Supervisor, Team Leader, F&N Coordinator and/or Director. The Dietetic Aide performs a variety of patient foodservice and dish room duties which include, transporting food carts to and from nursing units, transporting other items within and outside the department, cleaning carts and other equipment, assembling food on trays accurately and quickly; delivering alternate meal trays, cleaning of service wares as well as other assigned tasks. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.
Performance Expectations:
- Demonstrate the ability to adhere to all FGH policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Demonstrate the ability to perform a variety of patient food service and dish room duties.
- Demonstrate ability to accurately prepare food trays in a timely manner with no more than 5 delays while on the line
- Demonstrate the ability to provide late meal trays within 30 minutes of receipt of patient meal ticket
- Demonstrate proper hand washing skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to follow food safety guidelines.
- Demonstrate the ability to properly document per department policy
- Demonstrate the ability to be courteous and helpful to patients and family at all times.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain a friendly, helpful, supportive and team-like atmosphere among coworkers.
- Demonstrate willingness to assist in other areas as needed.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Work Experience:
Entry level job experience preferred. On the job training will be provided.
Mental Demands:
Ability to perform repetitive tasks; interact with visitors and employees in friendly, professional manner;
take orders and follow directions precisely; must demonstrate ability to work within time constraints
without constant supervision. Requires concentration to ensure accuracy. Time constraints may produce stress.
