Sensata Technologies Aerospace business is looking for a Mechanical Product Engineer who will be responsible for designing and developing electro-mechanical products, primarily Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDT), for aircraft and spacecraft. The qualified individual will be responsible for managing the overall design and development activities from concept through qualification test and ultimately production transfer. This position works closely with Product Engineers, Designers, Test Engineers, Program Managers, Sales & Customer Service, Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers and Purchasing. This role will be reporting to and working with the Engineering Manager.
Designing and drafting of mechanical components and assemblies for aircraft and space craft. These activities are in close coordination with mechanical design and/or project engineers.
Majority of the designs will be utilizing the latest version of Solid Works, however some experience with Auto-CAD is also required.
Designing and drafting of tooling, fixturing and accessories required in manufacturing of these assemblies.
Creating and checking the Engineering change orders. The knowledge of Auto-CAD is required for changing and modifying the legacy drawings.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience with Solid Works. Some knowledge of Auto CAD is also necessary.
Solid Works Associate Certification is a required. Professional Certification is a plus.
Full understanding of ANSI Y14.5 drafting standard with in depth knowledge of GD&T
Experience in design and drafting of complex mechanical components with tight tolerances. Some experience with PC Board lay out is a plus.
Basic understanding of the machining techniques (lath, mill, etc) is necessary.
Experience with designing and drafting of aerospace mechanical components and assemblies is a plus.
Good interpersonal / communication skills and familiarity with standard manufacturing processes including Machining, Welding, Brazing, etc.
