Online Advisors provide online class academic support to students enrolled in hybrid program. Online Advisors advise students on academic and non-academic issues, providing the tools and resources necessary for students to perform well and be successful in their online classes. Expert knowledge of all school policies and procedures along with strong relationship-building and problem- solving skills are requirements for this student-focused position. The Online Advisor is a key player in improving overall student satisfaction and retention as well as reinforcing our mission and vision. Online Advisors liaison with staff on a regular basis to ensure an effective student experience.

Experience with advising or counseling in a similar environment
Two years experience working in an online college is preferred
Outstanding telephone skills
Ability to multi-task and to succeed within strict timelines
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and email
Exemplary level of integrity
Strong detail orientation and organizational skills
Strong communication skills
Proven ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and faculty
Variable hours with some evening and weekend work
Must have bachelor's degree or higher

General Responsibilities

Provide exceptional service via phone, text messaging and email to assigned student population to ensure high student satisfaction and retention
Establish and maintain departmental relationships with the Program Associate Dean, instructors, Director of Hybrid, and Hybrid Coordinators across the Education Affiliates system.
Handle all incoming communications from students in an expedient and professional manner.
Troubleshoot student support issues promptly and coordinate solutions.
Maintain excellent working knowledge of the assignments and academic requirements of online classes delivered within hybrid programs.
Advise students of school policies related to hybrid programs and the online, such as passing grades.
Effectively document all student interactions according to established policies and procedures.
Manage student information system data with integrity and security.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student affairs and administrative responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
