The role reports to the Plant Manager and is located in Greenville, South Carolina. As a HR Business Partner (HRBP), You will be a core member of the local Business Management Team, provide on-site Human Resources (HR) support to employees, including managers, to ensure effective and sustainable workplace relations and performance in close collaboration with the ABB HR network – Global Business Services (GBS), Center of Excellence (COE), etc.
Represent HR in the workplace, build partnerships between employees, HR and Managers. Partner with managers & employees to fully understand issues that can be supported or resolved through HR practices, processes, or policies.
Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, employee relations, employee handbook & policies, employment law and other topics as required.
Recruit, interview, and select qualified employees to fill vacant positions. Work closely with ABB Talent Partners as necessary.
Oversee implementation of HR processes at the location, ensuring compliance with Group policy and guidelines.
Manage affirmative action reporting, training, and program administration. Work to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Monitor employee turnover data and put measures in place to support achievement of optimal levels of attrition across the site. Assess employee engagement and morale and take actions to address issues.
Cultivate a culture of accountability and high performance coupled with one of appreciation and recognition.
Implement and ensure compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies and processes.
Associates Degree in Human Resources or related field AND 5 years of HR related experience.
Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field AND 3 years of HR related experience.
Masters degree in Human Resources or related field AND 1 year of HR related experience
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
- A Master’s Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
- A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience.
5+ years in a manufacturing environment
Professional Human Resources (PHR) Certification is highly desired.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities.
Excellent social media skills.
