The Digital Sales SEO Specialist will be responsible for growing the digital sales channel within the Just Energy family of energy brands. As a vital member of the team, the ideal candidate works closely with the Director of Online Sales to expertly build and execute a comprehensive SEO plan for a variety of Just Energy brands and web assets.
Responsibilities:
This person quickly understands the sales growth objectives of Just Energy, develops a clear plan to not only address immediate SEO issues and opportunities, but also puts forth medium and long-term plans to improve overall organic performance. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: defining requirements, tasks and resources associated with executing an SEO strategy, manage and execute implementation, keyword research and competitive analysis, performing technical SEO audits and monitoring health of web assets, reviewing conversion funnel analytics and seeing through improvement activities, presenting and implementing growth initiatives to drive towards and beyond revenue and sales goals, acting as business owner for digital sales projects, and regularly presenting findings, insight and recommendations for sales growth.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Create and implement strategic action plans; manage team members, measure and analyze program results, and iterate on tactical executions to optimize results
- Establish clear priorities of SEO activities, executing against a larger SEO strategic plan that aligns to the company’s goals
- Manage SEO initiative from start to finish
- Create an effective content marketing strategy and schedule; work with content writers to deploy accordingly
- Business ownership of the organic channel approach to drive and grow online and Inbound call sales
- Drive the vision of the organic strategy in collaboration with peers within the Digital Sale’s team, include a dev team to support meeting milestones
- Execute content marketing campaigns to drive traffic, backlinks, engagement, sales and customer retention
- Analyze traffic, SEO metrics and effectiveness of executions and messaging, based on sound, well-defined KPIs reporting, to determine new ways to improve performance and ROI
- Monitor, via on-site analytics and 3rd party reporting services, site health and performance to quickly identify friction and breakage points in the online experience. Collaborate with dev resources to expediently address breakage with the objective to improve overall funnel metrics and quality score.
- Perform keyword and competitive analysis to influence content strategy approach, all with an objective to drive incremental qualified traffic
- Remain up to date with the latest SEO trend, best practices, Google algorithm updates, and UI/UX trends
- Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills
- Prepare and present comprehensive and thorough dashboard reporting on a weekly basis
- Prepare and present monthly and ad hoc channel performance presentations, as well as business cases to support recommendations for channel investment
- Monitor and administer web analytics dashboards, reports and key reporting tools, and point out key areas of importance in accordance with channel goals
- Clear communication to team and management on project development, timelines, and results
- Work closely with the other team members to meet team and corporate goals, focused on growth AND profitability
- Conceptualize and drive strategies and sales growth initiatives through technical and content optimizations across Just Energy website properties
- Launch and manage performance of digital campaigns across Just Energy brands and markets, targeting both residential and commercial customers and focused on delivering consistent sales results
- Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across Legal, Marketing, Operations, Pricing, Information Technology, etc
- Work closely with Legal to ensure consistent and compliant framework that scales to support all brands and all Markets.
- Work closely with Director of Online Sales and Sr Digital Sales Manager to establish strategy for targeting customers that drive Gross Margin and EBITDA goals
- Work with Analytics/Reporting resources to ensure accurate and consistent performance reporting
- Analyze market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback
- Prepare and adhere to budgets, as needed
- Gather and analyze customer data and financial benefit
- Manages a team of Digital employees
Requirements:
- 7-10 years of SEO execution experience
- Experience in developing and maintaining business performance reports and delivering ad-hoc analysis of results
- Strong skills interpreting data and statistical analysis
- Strong understanding of user experience best practices
- Deep knowledge of Google Analytics and conversion funnel tracking
- Deep understanding of technical SEO: on-page, off-page, site performance and health
- Strong, effective communicator
- Passion for Search and internet marketing
- Highly effective with engaging internal stakeholders and advocating for channel needs
- Highly developed, demonstrated teamwork skills
- Ability to coordinate the efforts of diverse creative team members
- Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches, and team contribution
- Commitment to continuous learning
- Understanding of financial models and how to drive performance towards bottom line goals
- Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and provide useful advice and input across the company

- Highly skilled with the tools of the trade in a sales/corporate environment including written communication, website development, market research, product creation, Microsoft software suite of products
Education:
- Required Bachelor’s Degree
- Google Analytics certification a plus
