Full Job Description
FactSet creates flexible, open data and software solutions for tens of thousands of investment professionals around the world, providing instant access to financial data and analytics that investors use to make crucial decisions.
As part of the UX team you’ll help create the next generation of apps our clients use every day. If you like to tackle complex problems, design new solutions, and work in a collaborative environment, you’ll fit right in at FactSet. This is an exciting time to join the team because you can have a large impact on a new design system being implemented across mobile, tablet, and desktop. You could be contributing to anything from animations and style, to information architecture and company-wide patterns. UX is impacting the organization as never before at FactSet
What we value as members of the UX team:
We collaborate early and often in and outside of the core UX group.
We have varied backgrounds and perspectives that bring something valuable to the table.
We help each other learn, grow, and become better designers.
We prioritize a healthy work-life balance because the best ideas come when we are engaged, not exhausted.
We focus on creating solutions instead of pointing out problems and limitations.
We care about our work and know the value of compromise.
We work to create a low ego environment with designs based on data and principles.
We appreciate and respect each other. We also have a good time at work.
What you can expect day to day:
Work closely with a team of interaction designers, user researchers, and visual designers to help create new apps for FactSet and contribute to our new design system.
Whiteboard, sketch, and wireframe ideas, solutions, information architecture, and users flows. You’ll create a story of artifacts for each project and problem you tackle.
Grow from owning features to owning products from a design perspective.
Work in agile project teams to build new products and iterate on designs.
Create wireframes & prototypes in Figma for mobile, tablet, and desktop applications.
Iterate and ideate to take concepts to the next level. This could be kicking off research for a new component, exploring a new pattern for our design system, or helping to build out the finer points of a new app.
Work with product teams to discover product feedback and refine user needs to ensure we are solving the right problem.
What we are looking for:
1-3 years of experience in a design or related field.
A portfolio that shows projects you have worked on, created, or case studies.
You are passionate about app design and user-centered design as a discipline.
You are comfortable in an environment with multiple stakeholders, teams, and ideas.
You have good presentation skills and can effectively communicate design decisions, ideas, and your approach.
You’ll be a vocal advocate for user-centered design within FactSet and your project teams.
You’ve used tools like Figma (bonus!), Sketch, or InVision to create your design artifacts and deliverables.
