Edgewater is seeking qualified candidates for a part time Electrical Safety Instructor opportunity to support the Hanford Site HAMMER Facility in Richland, WA.
Title of Scope: PROVIDE INSTRUCTORS FOR HAMMER TRAINING (RFP 343751)
1, Part-Time, Instructor Support for the Electrical Safety training program. Instructor shall need to be skilled and experienced to provide instructor support in the Electrical Safety training program area described below.
General: Demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques, adult education methods, and applying the Systematic Approach to Training through training or experience.
Electrical Safety Program Specific:
Instructor(s) shall hold or have held a Washington State Electrician license.
Experience working at a Government Owned Facility, i.e., Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD).
Experience as an Electrical Engineer, Electrical Inspector, or Journeyman Electrician with varied types of work performed (i.e., industrial wiring, demolition, brownfield setup)
SUBCONTRACTOR INSTRUCTOR DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
General Desired Qualifications:
Previous technical instructor experience
Previous experience performing this specific training or be approved to participate in on-the-job training by the HAMMER individual identified by the BTR
Experience on the Hanford site will improve the ability of the individual(s) to complete the necessary activities
Basic use of Audio/Visual (A/V) equipment
Comfortable speaking in front of groups
Basic use of Microsoft Office suite
Strong customer service skills
Strong presentation skills, including presenting to a diverse student population; i.e., professional, bargaining unit, and management, etc.
Electrical Safety Program Specific Desired Qualifications:
Be approved by Washington State Labor & Industries to teach courses that give license continuing education units (CEUs)
A working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA-70)
A working knowledge of the Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA-70E)
Previous experience in instructing Lockout/Tagout courses at the Hanford Site
Experience in Operations or Maintenance at a Nuclear Facility
This statement of work includes training support for the following training courses/program areas:
The Electrical Safety instructor(s) delivers training on the necessary skills to properly use and control electrical energy, understand electrical hazards, and implement hazard controls.
The Electrical Safety instructor(s) utilizes a variety of teaching methodologies to meet the requirements of DOE-0359, Hanford Site Electrical Safety Program (HSESP).
