Summary
As a Staff Assistant at the GS-0303-6/7 with a full performance level of GS-7, you will be part of HRS Leadership Development, Office of Personnel Management. If selected, you will act as a receptionist receiving all general FEI telephone calls, and emails, and serves as the first customer contact for participants, and walk-in visitors.

Responsibilities
Provides general information on the CLD organization and the mission of the Center for Leadership Development.
Carries out general administrative and customer service responsibilities, including preparing staff travel orders and vouchers, making travel arrangements for the FEI staff upon request, and making lodging arrangements for OPM guests as necessary.
Provides courteous and thoughtful inquiry regarding the nature of the call to determine which calls should go directly to the CLD Deputy Director, professional staff, Registrars, or other appropriate staff and makes the appropriate transfers.
Thoughtfully and courteously screens walk-in visitors by inquiring about the person to be visited, the nature of the visit, and whether an appointment had been previously scheduled.
Ensures grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and proper format when preparing memos, letters, reports, and tabulated data, and other written materials.
Controls the access to class space and adjusts configurations/layouts as needed.
Interfaces with multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders - customers and government officials
Supports faculty member preparations on site as needed.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the grade GS-6, you must have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience at or equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either public or private sectors) which include: 1) receive general telephone calls and emails as the first customer service contact; 2) assisting with preparing memos, letters, reports, and tabulated data to ensure proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and proper format; and 3) assisting in completing time and attendance records using automated systems.

To qualify for this position at the grade GS-7, you must have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized work experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either public or private sectors) which include: 1) providing suggestions for improving general administrative and clerical processes; 2) preparing memos, letters, reports, and tabulated data to ensure proper grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and proper format; and 3) making travel and lodging arrangements including preparing staff travel orders and vouchers.
