The Systems Administrator II is responsible for the administration of various servers which provide classroom-related services across the entire USF system. Responsible for the installation, operation, and problem resolution of all aspects of the services that directly and indirectly affect classroom operation and staff/faculty/student well-being. These systems provide services such as: Panopto classroom recording and live streaming service, Crestron Fusion control systems, X2O digital signage/emergency alert system, and other services focused on student success. Additional responsibilities involve integration of these services with the various systems on campus that provide single sign-on, both for the Active Directory domain logins, as well as the CAS-based NetID system. Advanced knowledge of network principles and methodologies are required in order to support non-traditional systems, such as the multicast video distribution systems that deliver digital signage to the buildings of geographically dispersed departments.

Designs and implements complex local and wide area networks and audio visual systems, supporting enterprise-wide applications or large scale computing applications involving hundreds of users.
Installs, configures, and maintains multiple servers and workstations, ensuring proper integration with other university computer systems. Manages classroom solution infrastructure, ensuring proper integration with other university classroom technology.
Establishes or recommends policies and procedures for system use and services.
Leads and/or guides the work of other staff and/or students engaged in similar functions.
Manages a large sites and audio visual systems; monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Develops and implements various training, job aids, and instruction for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications, and databases.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and two years of IT related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and three years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of six years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification, validated through certification requirements and documentation of completion, is considered to be related training.
