Here in North Charleston, SC, Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC is writing an exciting chapter in Daimler’s history as we add the first U.S. van production plant for the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, in addition to our existing assembly operation for Sprinter and METRIS vans. Job Overview:
Manages, monitors, and directs computer operations to maximize the effectiveness of the organization's information processing systems and resources.

Ensures day-to-day operation of infrastructure including networks, servers, databases etc. as well as applications and customer support
Prioritizes and schedules computer operations and workflow
Analyzes production, maintenance, and malfunction records and identifies problems and recommends solutions
Manages, motivates and develops staff using target agreements and performance appraisals, founded on our mission statement & corporate values, and providing internal communications in order to achieve the agreed objectives.
Coordinates all local, central and multi-site operational issues of IT area as Service Manager Local.
Monitors and facilitates operational services according to agreed service levels in all areas of operation
Supports seamless processes between all internal teams in IT
Supports management in planning of operations budgets and in achievement of the department's cost targets
Ensures implementation of Daimler security policies
Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings
Will perform other duties as assigned


Leads team of direct and indirect reports
Leads employees in line with organizational culture, values and guidelines
Defines performance goals, conducts performance reviews
Effectively communicates and engages employees to meet objectives
Responsible for employee development and qualification
Manages budget and personnel allocation efficiently.
Conveys budget distribution and cost saving processes to colleagues.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or other technical discipline or in comparable studies.
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in IT System Development and/or IT Operations.
Proven expertise and knowledge of IT technology related to network, server, client, and telecommunication environment.
Collaboration with external partners, suppliers. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Negotiating skills, personal ability to motivate people and to achieve the fulfillment of the local requirements
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams. Skills for conceptual and strategic development

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (“MBV”) is a plant in Ladson, South Carolina that assembles Sprinter vans for the U.S. market under the brands Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner. The midsize Metris van was added to the assembly line in 2015.

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC announced in March 2015 that it will invest $500 million in construction of a new Sprinter production plant, in addition to an expansion of existing operations. In July 2016, MBV officially broke ground on the site of its new plant, located next to existing operations in the North Charleston area. The MBV facility will provide up to 1,300 jobs by the end of the decade.

More than 112,000 Sprinters have been assembled in North Charleston and delivered to destinations in the U.S. since 2006. The U.S. is now the second largest market for Sprinter vans, after Germany.
