Job Description

Meliora Academy is a small private school designed to provide intensive and comprehensive educational services to students with autism spectrum and related disorders. The ideal candidate would be someone who understands the need for adapting the instruction to meet the students individual needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of teaching programs and behavior support plans
  • Collect and graph academic and behavior data
  • Creating student visual supports and materials needed for instruction
  • Assisting the teacher with maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or BCaBA certificate
  • Maintain RBT certfication
  • Successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Receive and maintain certifications in Safety Care, First Aid and CPR
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull/move up to 60 lbs

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN BOTH WORKSITE LOCATIONS: 2 days in school setting at Meliora (Meriden, CT) AND 3 days in home/community setting (Norwalk, CT)

Employment Details:

  • Work hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm
  • Meliora follows a typical school calendar including a 7-week summer program
