Crawford Consulting Services, Inc. (Crawford) has an excellent reputation for furnishing exemplary personnel to augment client staff in assuring construction projects meet overall client objectives, design intent, schedule, quality requirements and budget constraints. Crawford will augment the PMO at a large health care provider, furnishing CQA personnel capable of ensuring the owner's interests are maintained throughout the project lifecycle and ultimate occupancy at one or more specialty hospitals.
Crawford is seeking both mid-level and senior-level CQA Field Managers - MEP with strong backgrounds in observing building systems construction and commissioning, specifically: mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. To be considered for these positions, candidates must have direct hands-on field experience with health care or commercial sector construction projects.
Senior-Level CQA Field Manager - MEP: Candidates will have a minimum of 10 years direct experience in overseeing construction projects working for a contractor, owner or CM. Additional experience in design, planning or scheduling is useful, but will not substitute for on-site construction oversight. A B.S. Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (with preference for electrical, mechanical, fire protection or plumbing degrees) is required.
Mid-Level CQA Field Manager - MEP: Candidates will have a minimum of five (5) years direct experience in overseeing construction projects working for a contractor, owner or CM. Additional experience in design, planning or scheduling is useful, but will not substitute for on-site construction oversight. A B.S. Degree in Engineering or Construction Management (with preference for electrical, mechanical, fire protection or plumbing degrees) is required.
Certified Health Care Constructors, certified by the American Society of Healthcare Engineering, will be given a strong preference in hiring. This certification indicates a good knowledge of working in a health care environment in close proximity to patients and treatment areas.
Any applicant considered for hire must pass a pre-employment background and criminal history check as well as a drug screen.
In addition to the knowledge and skills listed in other sections, the successful candidates must possess and demonstrate good communications skills, both written and verbal, and have a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to respond to changing conditions and priorities. Must be able to communicate directly with contractors and designers concerning constructability issues, project cost, staffing and scheduling, prepare project status reports and actively monitor submittals to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
As a successful candidate, you will become an integral part of the client's PMO, serving in an owner's representative role. You will work closely with the client's project director and senior project managers to establish daily, weekly and longer-term needs and reporting requirements, recognizing that resource commitments will shift as projects progress through their lifecycle.
These positions will entail a varying blend of office and field work. Office work may require long periods of sitting and computer use. Field work may require long periods on your feet, possibly on ladders or scaffolding. Active construction sites may be dusty, loud, or dusty. Heavy lifting should not be required. Compliance with safety assurance plans is mandatory.
Successful candidates must be able to perform a range of tasks commensurate with the project phase, from participation in early planning and design discussions and reviews, through documented daily QA field observations, resolution of punch list issues, commissioning and start-up. The owner will be relying on the CQA Field Manager to apply their construction knowledge to help the designer and contractors prevent construction issues, monitor progress and contractor quality control plan implementation, and observe key commissioning activities to ensure systems are functioning as designed and intended.
